MOSES
We all know the enchanting story of a little boy, placed in a basket among the reeds at the banks of the river Nile. His Mum placed him there to save his life. His sister was hiding, waiting to see, what happened.
A princess came with her entourage to bathe in the river, heard the little boy cry, saw him and wanted to adopt him. His sister came forward and promised to find someone to breastfeed him...he was named Moses.. and he was destined for something big...
One day, as an adult, he retreated into the mountains and saw a bush on fire, but not burning; the legend goes this is where Moses received "The Ten Commandments" giving guidance as to how to live according to the wishes of the Divine.
Those are good and sound advise for anyone wishing to live an ethically responsible life; they serve as a basis for people within Judaism to form guidelines within families and communities; as such they are also a moral compass for the individual to contemplate and adhere to.
All religions have their guidelines for members of their particular congregation; "The Ten Commandments" in their original form from "The Old Testament" are an integrated part of Judaism, even today.
Very good!
